Chard Métis Nation, SWIFT Learning, and Safety in Schools Foundation Collaborate to Bring Innovative Education Programs to Indigenous Communities

The Chard Métis Nation, SWIFT Learning (SWIFT), and the Safety in Schools (SiS) Foundation of Canada are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership to deliver industry-recognized Occupational Health and Safety eLearning courses and introduce the new Energy Career Literacy eLearning program to youth and adults in the Chard Métis Nation and neighbouring Indigenous communities.

The Safety in Schools Foundation of Canada and the Calgary Fire Department Launch Home Fire Safety App for Students

The SiS Foundation of Canada, in collaboration with the Calgary Fire Department, is proud to announce the official launch of the SAHARA 4 Home Fire Safety app.

The SAHARA 4 Home Fire Safety app is designed to provide students the information they need to assess the risk of fires in their home and mitigate those risks. This free app aims to reach all high school students in Calgary, providing them with a unique tool they can use on their phones to enhance their awareness and knowledge about fire safety.

The SiS Foundation Launches the Energy Career Literacy Program

The SiS (Safety in Schools) Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the Energy Career Literacy program. This program combines an eLearning course teachers can assign to complete in the classroom and an Energy Career Hub where students can access invaluable industry insights, resources, potential employers, mentorship opportunities, and much more.

Energy literacy providers push for balanced, sustainable future

Several Alberta organizations are actively working to enhance energy literacy among young individuals, while a call for nationwide energy literacy programming is being made by an industry executive. Inside Education, a long-standing charity, is dedicated to educating K-12 students about Alberta’s natural resource sectors, emphasizing oil and gas as well as environmental aspects. They aim to inspire students toward a sustainable future for the environment, economy, and society, highlighting the idea that various energy forms and sources can coexist without conflict.

The Energy Career Literacy Program Continues to Garner Excitement and Support

The Energy Career Literacy Program continues to garner excitement and support as SWIFT Learning and the SiS Foundation secure more funding. With ongoing support from the Alberta Enterprise Group, Modern Miracle Network was the first to step up to fund this project, The Stream-Flo Group of Companies have followed suit and announced their proud support of this crucial education initiative, providing detailed and factual information about the energy industry delivered free to high school students in the province of Alberta, and beyond.

10PIX returns for 2023

The 10 Peaks Innovation Xchange is officially back for 2023! Taking place October 12, 2023 in Red Deer, Alberta, teachers are already signing up their students for this dynamic, engaging day.

The conference will explore the Energy Transition – Our Net Zero Future, covering innovation and technology, career opportunities for the future, the changing climate and more.

New this year, 10PIX will dive into sustainable agriculture and Smart farming.

Calgary Fire Department and Safety in Schools Foundation of Canada Partnership

November 28th, 2022 – Calgary, AB – The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) and the Safety in Schools Foundation of Canada (SiS) are pleased to announce a new partnership to develop a Fire Prevention and Safety app and online program for teens and young adults which will be delivered to high schools and post secondary institutions in Calgary and the surrounding area first quarter of 2023.
