Aligned with the CALM Curriculum to Educate and Empower Youth
Calgary, Alberta December 7th, 2023 — The SiS (Safety in Schools) Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the Energy Career Literacy program. This program combines an eLearning course teachers can assign to complete in the classroom and an Energy Career Hub where students can access invaluable industry insights, resources, potential employers, mentorship opportunities, and much more.
SiS reaches over 10,000 students annually and has received substantial support and funding from prominent industry stakeholders. Notably, the Stream-Flo Group of Companies, the Modern Miracle Network Board, the Alberta Enterprise Group, indigenous stakeholders, and esteemed educators.

SiS has a rich legacy in providing top-notch educational resources, with over 160,000 mastered certificates students from ~500 schools since 2011. This legacy is rooted in scalability, effectiveness, inclusivity, and a dedication to supporting teachers with invaluable eLearning courses aligned with the Alberta curriculum. With the capacity to deliver content in over 100 languages via mobile devices, SiS is well-positioned to reach and engage ESL youth immigrating to Alberta, ensuring equal access to educational opportunities.
The Energy Career Literacy program is the first step towards equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to learn about the career opportunities in the energy sector. SiS is now working on phase 2 for grades 7 — 9 and Phase 3 for K — 6. With plans to educate youth in grades 7 — 9 in the works, SiS continues to lead educational innovation, fostering a brighter future for the next generation.
